From limited evidence regarding Tagula's offspring, there are certainly possibilities worth exploring. His best runner is Atlantis Prince who enjoyed an excellent
unbeaten juvenile campaign in 2000, culminating with his victory in the Gr.2 Royal Lodge Stakes. Atlantis Prince is out of a Caerleon (by Nijinsky) mare and it seems that there is a bit of a Nijinsky theme running through Tagula offspring, and indeed to a lesser extent the offspring of his sire Taufan as well. In fact four out of six of Tagula's Stakes winners have Nijiosky in their pedigree. Listed winner Red Millennium (also multiple Gr.3 placed) is out of a mare by Vision, who was the American-raced full brother to Caerleon. Then there is the fact that two more Tagula Stakes winners - the full-sisters Bakewell Tart and Macaroon - both have Gorytus (by Nijinsky) as the sire of their second dam Pretty Peach. Although Nijinsky mares were never in Tau fan's catchment, two of his major winners, Catch Twenty Two and Nanoushka, have Nijinsky as the sire of their grandams, while Nijinsky's close relative The Minstrel is the sire of a Tau fan Stakes winner. Tagula 's Stakes winning daughters, the sisters Bakewell Tart and Macaroon, are out of a mare by Alzao (by Lyphard and for the purposes of this study probably should be viewed as two separate pieces of evidence suggesting further liaisons with Alzao mares.
Another Tagula Group 2 winner is Tagshira who is out of a mare by Darshaan, as is the Tagula Stakes placed 2-y-o, Triple Play. Then, it would be worth trying this cross again, and there are several others from the line that may be worth a try such as mares by Shirley Heights, Slip Anchor, Mark of Esteem, etc. Tagula's high class 2-y-o of 2004, Merchant, is out of a Shernazar (by Busted) mare, while Beaver Patrol is out of a Project Manager (by Ahonoora) mare - the Ahonoora line provides plenty of opportunties with daughters of Indian Ridge, lnchinor and Ahonoora line mares being ideal mating options for Tagula. And Tagula Sunrise is a daughter of a Rainbows For Life (by Lyphard) mare, thus further supporting the Lyphard theory. Finally, Double Vie, a 2005 Tagula Listed winner is out of a Rainbow Quest mare, the same sire that produced the second dam of Toca Madera - one of Tau fan's most accomplished runners. Tax Free, the top class Tagula sprinter in 2005, who won 4 races, including the William Hill Trophy at York, was out of a mare by Owington (by Green Desert), so Green Desertline mares - and there ought to be plenty of them - should be ideally suited to Tagula.
