RATHBARRY BRED JUVENILE COMPLETES HAT TRICK
The Rathbarry Stud-bred two-year-old BEAU WARRIOR defied an 11 pound rise to complete a hat-trick of wins for trainer Aido McGuinness at Dundalk. Twice a winner over six furlongs in November, the bay filly stepped up to seven furlongs on her latest start and was pushed all the way to the line by joint-favourite Colfer Me. Battling gamely, the pair finished five and a half lengths clear of the other market leader, Vhagar.
The winning trainer commented after the race, “It’s her first time over 7f but the headwind nearly stopped her. It’s a big factor there tonight but she’s very gutsy and all heart. We’re delighted to win three on the bounce and she’s going to go on holiday now for two or three months.”
The three-time winner was sold by Rathbarry Stud to owners the Total Recall Racing Club at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.
