MALINAS MARE RETURNS FINE PROFIT AT CHELTENHAM

MADAM DELUXE (Malinas) produced a fine profit for connections when selling for £90,000 at the Cheltenham Festival Sale on Thursday evening.

Bought by shrewd judge Jamie Codd, the bay mare had caught the eye when finishing second on her sole start for Liam Kenny at Ballycahane. Owned and ridden by Harley Dunne, the four-year-old was given a patient ride and made smooth headway down the back of the track, running on well to finish a fine second to the nights sales topper.

£90,000 represents an excellent return on Madam Deluxe’s store price of £30,000. Bred by Barrow Hill, she is a half-sister to black-type performer Draco.
