GLENVIEW STUD SIRES IN DEMAND AT GOFFS

Sons of Glenview Stud sires were in demand at the Goffs Land Rover Sale, where Ron O’Leary went to €68,000 for a SHIROCCO gelding offered by Trickledown Stud as Lot 146. The March-born bay is a half-brother to Grade 1 performer Regal Encore and Listed winner The Organist.

Earlier in the day, it was encouraging to see national hunt fillies popular with buyers, as a filly by SHIROCCO (Lot 139) was knocked down to Highflyer Bloodstock at €55,000. Offered by Brown Island Stables, she is out of the four-time winner Gentle Alice, who was also placed at Grade 3 level on multiple occasions.

SHOLOKHOV also enjoyed a fruitful day in the sales ring, where his five sons sold for an average €56,800. Topping the pile was Lot 43 from Ferndale Stables, who was knocked down to Tom Malone and Colm Donlon at €65,000.

Close behind him on the leaderboard was Lot 100, a bay SHOLOKHOV gelding offered by Peter Nolan Bloodstock on behalf of Garrynacurra Stud. Bred out of a Presenting half-sister to Royal Vacation, he sold to Jonjo O’Neill and Stroud Coleman for €62,000.

The sole offering of the day by MALINAS was a half-sister to Grade 3 runner-up The Saint James offered by Clifton Farm. Consigned as Lot 60, she was knocked down to Highflyer Bloodstock for €36,000.
