GLENVIEW SIRES REWARD DERBY SALE CONSIGNORS

Lot 122 Shirocco ex Ballinahow Lady

The progeny of Glenview Stud sires proved popular with Derby sale buyers, with Highflyer Bloodstock going to €90,000 for Lot 122, a son of SHIROCCO offered by Goldford Stud. Pinhooked for €32,000, the bay is the first foal out of the Grade 3 winning chaser Ballinahow Lady.

Highflyer were also the successful purchasers of a SHOLOKHOV gelding (Lot 328) from Glenvale Stud, with the €80,000 sale providing a tidy profit on the €28,000 paid for him as a foal when consigned by Rathbarry Stud.

SHOLOKHOV was also responsible for Lot 317, a gelding out of the black-type mare Lecon Benefique, who brought €75,000 from agent Gerry Hogan. Consigned by Goldford Stud on behalf of Lady Jane Grosvenor, he too represented a successful pinhooking result for connections.

Lot 4, meanwhile, is point for the point-to-point circuit, after Monge Stables gave €70,000 for the SHIROCCO half-brother to Lord Windermere and Sub Lieutenant.

A son of MALINAS rewarded Rathbarry Stud with a welcome profit when selling for €50,000, having been bought as a foal for €25,000. A grandson of Listed performer Kentford Fern, he was bought by Speed Bloodstock.
