ACCLAMATION COLT SETS NEW TRACK RECORD
The Jeremy Noseda-trained GARRUS (Acclamation) set a new track record over five furlongs at Nottingham when taking the Conditions Stakes on April 10th.
Leading after a furlong under Ryan Moore, the grey was shaken up approaching the final furlong and was pushed out to score by a length and a quarter. The favourite Pocket Dynamo, who finished second in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes last season, finished second, with a further six lengths back to the third horse.
Speaking after the race, Ryan Moore said, “It was a good performance from Garrus. He was a nice horse at two and has done the job well on his return.”
A dual winner at two, the Susan Roy-owned colt was bred by Mrs Max Morris and was sold as a foal by Ballylinch Stud for €130,000. Out of a Medicean mare, he is bred on a similar cross to top-class two-year-olds Mehmas and Dark Angel, both sons of Acclamation bred out of Machiavellian mares.
